Trip Itinerary:

Day One: Urumqi Arrival

Welcome to Xinjiang! Upon your arrival, your local guide and driver will meet you at the arrival hall of Urumchi Diwopu International Airport during the designated time of arrival, and then drive you to your hotel. The rest of today is yours to explore the mysterious city on the Silk Road.

Day Two: Urumqi - Kanas

Today you'll have a full day explore the stunning Kanas!

Get up early to catch the flight to Kanas. (07:25-08:45) Once arrival at Burqin Kanasi Airport, you'll transfer to the hotel, which is 3km from Kanas scenic spot, and then spend the whole day touring Kanas. Known as “the back garden of the gods”, Kanas has been rated as one of the most beautiful destinations in China by both CNN and Conde Nast Traveler.

Take your leisure time to enjoy the breathtaking landscape of the vast Kanas Lake area full day. After visiting, transfer back to the hotel.

Day Three: Kanas - Hemu Village

After breakfast, you'll leave Kanas and drive to Hemu Village. (60km; 1h) Hemu Village is a small village situated in Kanas Nature Reserve in Altay, northern Xinjiang. It is the most remote and largest of the three habitats of the Tuvas, an ethnic group who still live a simple, ancient lifestyle by grazing animals and hunting. Moreover, Hemu Village is widely considered the most beautiful village in China because of its fascinating natural beauty.

The vast birch forests and green grasslands surround the peaceful village, together appear charming colors like an oil painting. Sunset here is fabulous. You can walk up to a higher hill to find the panoramic views of Humu Village in the golden sunlight.

Day Four: Hemu Village - Beitun

Get up early to catch the incredible sunrise in Hemu, which is also the MUST photo to be shot. When the sun rises and shines onto the mist curling up the villages, it is the moment to press your shutter. The rest time is free for you to explore the fairy tale like village. After lunch, you will drive to Beitun. (5h) During the way, we will visit the spectacular Rainbow Beach,where the stones were weathered into many vivid shapes like soaring hills, deep valley, criss-cross streets, tower, etc. After thousands years of geological changing, the bank was painted into different colors. The Five-Color Bank, (also called Rainbow Beach) which together with the nearby rivers and trees,  present you a gorgeous scene under the sunlight.

You'll arrive at the hotel in Beitun at around 7-8pm.

Day Five: Beitun - Fuyun

Today you'll adventure through the beautiful Koktokay National Geological Park, a 5A national park honored as the "Chinese Yosemite".After breakfast, you'll leave Beitun and drive to Fuyun and visit Koktokay. Covering an area of 777 square kilometers (300 square miles), Koktokay comprises of four main scenic areas: Irtysh Grand Canyon, Ilavmu Lake, Cocoa Sullivan Lake, and Fuyun Quake Remains.

The iconic landscape here is the granite landform formed 200 million years ago and developed into various steep mountains and canyons.

The best way to explore this beautiful place is to walk along the rivers in the Irtysh Grand Canyon. The 100-kilometer-long grand canyon is full of bizarre granite peaks, thick forest and turbulent rivers. The scenery varies with the seasons that are all breath-taking.

And spending decent amount of times in the national park, you'll also get to visit an very interesting place  - No.3 Mine, which is an extremely rare granite pegmatite mine and a former secret mine to payoff debt of Soviet Union.

Here 84 kinds of minerals like emerald, aquamarine have been found, and is honored the "Mecca for geology lover". The scenery here is hard to find elsewhere with giant layered mine pit, and the geological exhibition room inside is a heaven for those who are interested in geography and geology.

Day Six: Fuyun - Fukang *Heavenly Lake

Today you'll drive to visit Heavenly Lake. On the way, you'll pass the vast Gurbantünggüt Desert, The stunning Five-Color Bay and Fire Mountain.

You'll arrive at Heavenly Lake at around 2pm, The stunning Five-Color Bay and Fire Mountain. Take an off-the-beaten-track route into the deep area with few tourist for a quality hiking experience. (2-3hrs) After the visiting, you'll check-in at the hotel near scenic area.

Day Seven: Fukang - Turpan

Today you'll get to explore the famous Turpan in the northern part of the Silk Road for many centuries, a desert oasis with an abandunce of fascinating cultural relics and natrual wonders .

After breakfast, drive to Turpan (4-5h). You'll first visit the Tuyoq Village, an ancient oasis-village in a lush valley cutting into the Flaming Mountains, with a well preserved Uighur orientation, and few tourists.

Tuyoq Valley was once a holy Buddhist and Islamic place and the most mysterious place in western China and the intersection of world’s various religions along with their history.

Later, you'll transfer to visit Jiaohe Ruins. The Jiaohe Ruins are what's left of the world's 'largest, oldest, and best-preserved city of raw-earth buildings'. This big ancient city was dug out from Turpan's yellow desert siltstone. Most tourists think that the ruins of the ancient city of Jiaohe are Turpan's best travel highlight.

The ancient city was the capital of the former Cheshi State. An Indian proverb says, 'Intelligence is bound to exist where two rivers meet'. Jiaohe, meaning in Chinese where two rivers meet, is such a place. According to historical records it was home to 700 households, 6500 residents plus 865 soldiers from 60 BC to 640 AD.

After the visit, you'll drive back to Turpan City for overnight.

Day Eight: Turpan - Urumqi departure

Today is for departure. You will drive direct to Urumqi Diwobao International Airport (3-4h). Your tour ends here.
